She is a graduate of the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and completed a General Internal Medicine residency at Rhode Island Hospital/Brown University.
After practicing primary care in Jacksonville for several years, Dr. Greco began her clinical research career in 1999, joining Dr. Michael Koren and his team at the Jacksonville Center for Clinical Research (JCCR). At JCCR, she served as Principal Investigator in over 75 trials and Sub-Investigator in several hundred studies. As Director of Medical Affairs, she was involved in outreach and liaison with community physician investigators as well as CRO and Pharma sponsors. In addition, she supported in-house protocol development and oversight for clinical trials within the ENCORE Research Group.
Since leaving ENCORE Research Group in 2016, Dr. Greco has worked as a Contract Research Organization (ICON GPHS) Medical Monitor and Medical Director for NextScience and Vaxart, two early clinical phase biotech companies. In her most recent role as Senior Medical Director/Medical Monitor at Vaxart, she managed study oversight and supported clinical development for a novel oral vaccine platform in Phase 1 and 2 trials.
Dr. Greco’s broad experiences at the site, CRO, and sponsor levels offer a unique perspective into the ‘art’ of clinical research and the importance of Investigators’ responsibilities. She has been involved in the ENCORE Investigator Training Program since its inception in the early 2000’s, including educational content creation and presentations. Having benefitted from Dr. Koren’s mentorship for many years, Dr. Greco is committed to ‘paying it forward’ by supporting other physicians in their clinical research careers.
