Suzan Sofia McGovern, JD, MSJ, CIP, CIM, is a distinguished expert in regulatory compliance, ethical oversight, and clinical research. With 30 years of experience, Suzan has served in pivotal roles across academic institutions, healthcare organizations, and regulatory boards. She is currently an IRB Initial Reviewer with the Biomedical Research Alliance of New York (BRANY) and an Institutional Biosafety Committee Member with Advarra, contributing her extensive knowledge to ensure compliance with federal and international regulations.
Suzan’s expertise includes maintaining current knowledge of regulations, risk assessment, compliance, IRB submissions, mentoring clinical researchers, and delivering educational presentations on critical topics such as the ICH GCP, HIPAA, and FDA compliance. Her leadership has been instrumental in securing AAHRPP accreditations and guiding successful research protocols globally.
Suzan has presented at events, including SUNY and the DIA Annual Meetings, on subjects ranging from data breaches to legal hurdles as a sought-after speaker and educator. Her articles, published in leading medical and ethical journals, address challenges and innovations in clinical research.
